ISLAND PEAK CLIMBING

Island Peak Trek, also known as Imja Tse, is a popular tourist destination in the Everest region of Nepal.     Fly to Lukla – Trek to Phakding(2840m)

    We will travel to Ramechaap and From there you will fly to Lukla and take lunch before descending to the Dudh Koshi valley and north to Phakding where you spent overnight in lodge

    Trek to Namche Bazar(3440m)

    Early Morning , our hike to Namche begins which involves crossing several suspension bridges and a sustained climb of 800m, the order of the day is “bistari, bistari” (slowly, slowly). On the way you will pass numerous Mani Walls, Prayer Wheels and Stupas, for good luck these should be passed on the left side. It is worth remembering that by the time you reach Namche the virtual oxygen level will be down to 66%!

    Rest/ Acclimatization Day in Namche, Visit Khumjung Valley

    In order to adjust to the reduced oxygen level you need to take a proper rest. In the morning you will have the opportunity to explore Namche and visit Khumjung Valley. In the afternoon rest is advised but not sleep, sleeping reduces the breathing rate which is counterproductive.
