Arrival Kathmandu, reception and transfer to hotel.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan Airport, our staff will escort you to our hotel in Thamel. You will have the opportunity to relax or go sightseeing. Later in the evening you will be met by our guide to provide information and arrange your upcoming Lhotse expedition trip.
2-3Briefing, equipment checks and preparation.
Over the next two days, we will be diligently making the necessary final preparations and arrangements for your upcoming trip. During this time you will have the opportunity to meet your team, guides and Sherpa as well as complete all required government formalities such as obtaining expedition permits, national park permits and other relevant documentation. Our team will provide you with a comprehensive briefing on climbing Lhotse.
4By air to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,610m) β lodge.
The Lhotse expedition begins with a 35-minute domestic flight to the dangerous Lukla Airport. After a 3-4 hour trek to Phakding, we will explore culturally rich villages and admire the Khumbila and Kusum Kangraru mountains. Our overnight stay is in Phakding.
5Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) β lodge.
On the fifth day of our trip, we hike to Namche Bazaar along the Dudh Koshi River. The trail will lead us through pine forests and over several suspension bridges. After reaching Monjo, we will see the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. After obtaining the permit, we will continue our ascent to Namche Bazaar, where we will spend the night. This trek covers a distance of 10 kilometers and takes approximately five hours to complete.
6Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar β lodge.
During the acclimatization day, we take a break to allow our bodies to adjust to the environment. Namche Bazaar serves as the primary trading center for the high Himalayas and offers numerous cafes, restaurants and a bustling market with a peaceful atmosphere. This area provides internet access and basic services such as a hospital, post office and health post. In addition, a short trip to get to know the neighboring villages is planned.
7Trek to Deboche (3,820m) via Tengboche, visit monastery β lodge.
On the seventh day we will walk 11 kilometers along the Dudh Koshi River, it will take 5-6 hours. The trail offers stunning views of Mount Everest, Mt Ama Dablam and Mt Nuptse. We will drive through a beautiful forest and arrive in Sanasa. We will choose between Gokyo Valley or Everest Base Camp, then climb to Tengboche Monastery, where we will witness the Mani Rimdu Festival. We end up in Deboch.
8Trek to Dingboche (4,410m) β lodge.
On the eighth day of the Lhotse expedition, we embark on an 11 km uphill trek that starts at the Imja River and continues through dense forest to Pangboche, passing the Pheriche and Lobuche rivers and finally arriving at Dingboche, the Summer Valley of the Imja River. The Khumbu region, where we will enjoy an amazing view and rest.
9Acclimatization day, trek to Chukhung (4,730m) and return to Dingboche - lodge
On the ninth day, take a break to allow your body to acclimatize to the weather and environment. Explore the surrounding villages to better understand the Sherpa culture and way of life. In addition, we can go on a trek to the village of Chukung and, for those interested, to the peak of Chukung Ri.
10Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m) β lodge.
The Dingboche to Lobuche trek offers a challenging but rewarding journey through the Everest region, past towering mountains and glacial rivers. The lodge at Lobuch provides a comfortable place to rest before continuing towards Everest Base Camp and offers stunning views of surrounding peaks such as Ama Dablam and Nuptse.
11Trek from Lobuche to Lobuche Peak Base Camp (5,200m) β camp.
The trek from Lobuche to Lobuche Peak Base Camp (5200 m) is a challenging but rewarding journey through the stunning Himalayan landscape. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and breathtaking views, the trail crosses rugged terrain and icy streams. The base camp serves as a strategic starting point for climbers preparing to summit Lobuche.
12Acclimatization and skills revision β camp.

13-14Climb Lobuche Peak (6,119m) β camp.
At 6,119 meters, Peak Lobuche provides a challenging but rewarding climbing experience.
15Descend to Lobuche (4,910m) β lodge.
Located in the heart of the Himalayas, Lobuche offers a cozy comfort for tourists. Located at an altitude of 4,910 meters above sea level, this rustic lodge offers a warm retreat after a long day exploring the breathtaking mountain scenery.
16Trek from Lobuche to Gorekshep (5,170 m) β lodge.
The trek from Lobuche to Gorekshep (5,170 meters) is a challenging but rewarding journey through the Himalayas, passing through picturesque valleys, rocky trails and stunning mountain views. After reaching Gorekshep, the remote lodge offers amenities, comfortable beds, hot meals and breathtaking views.
17Trek to Everest / Lhotse Base Camp (5,364m) β camp.
Located at an altitude of 5,364m, Everest/Lhotse Base Camp offers stunning views of the Himalayas and serves as a key location for climbers preparing to summit Mount Everest and Lhotse, providing basic equipment and experienced guides.
18-38Acclimatization, skills revision, rotations, climbing and summit period β camp.
During the acclimatization phase, climbers adapt to the high altitudes by spending time in different camps. A review of skills is essential to a successful summit attempt, including rope management, ice ax use, and crevasse rescue. Rotations allow climbers to gradually gain altitude while returning to lower camps to rest. Climbing involves tackling various terrains and the peak period requires strong physical endurance, mental endurance and effective teamwork.
39Rest at Base Camp / contingency days β camp.
A rest or standby day is essential for climbing expeditions, allowing climbers to recover, assess weather conditions, check equipment and strategize for the next stage. The base camp also serves as a communications center for the support teams.
40Trek to Pheriche (4,240) β lodge.
Trek to Pheriche, a village in the Everest region of Nepal, at an altitude of 4240 meters. Explore rugged Himalayan trails, towering peaks and tranquil valleys. Get to a pleasant cottage that offers cozy accommodation and hospitality. Refuel before exploring higher altitudes or immerse yourself in the unique culture and natural beauty of the Everest region.
41Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) β lodge.
The journey from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar at an height of 3,440 meters offers dazzling sees of the Himalayan mountains and pleasant towns.
42Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,840m) β lodge.
Trekking from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,840 m) offers a scenic journey through the Everest region, offering cultural immersion and breathtaking mountain views. Starting from Namche Bazaar, tourists pass through lush rhododendron forests and charming villages and meet friendly locals. When they arrive in Lukla, the gateway to Everest, they enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and warm hospitality.
43By air to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.
Due to the weather there will be an early flight to Kathmandu. The domestic flight will take about 45 minutes. Once we reach there we will take you to your Thamel Eco Resort hotel. You are welcome to rest and maybe later to explore the city.
44Free day in Kathmandu, sightseeing and team dinner
The day also offers an opportunity to explore the city's attractions, including charming cafes, pubs, spas, restaurants and iconic sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Swayambhu and Pashupatinath.
45Depart from Kathmandu towards your destination
Today begins your journey back home. A member of the Makalu Adventure team will accompany you to the airport for your departure. We hope you cherished the experience and created unforgettable memories to cherish and share with your loved ones.
