Makalu Adventure starts a yoga trek in the Himalayas led by Dr. Chintamani Gautam, the renowned yoga guru. With a qualified team of yogis, therapists, guides and cooks, the trek promises to be memorable and safe.
Dr. Chintamani has over 15 years of teaching experience in Nepal and India and offers programs for both beginners and experienced yogis focusing on Nepali spirituality. The camp is located near a Buddhist monastery, where the morning prayers of the monks add to the tranquility of the experience.
The Poon Hill trek is a transformational journey with physical and spiritual benefits. Located in the Annapurna region, it offers a peaceful environment for practicing yoga, which begins in the village of Nayapul.
Each day includes an invigorating yoga class. Morning sessions are energizing, while evening sessions focus on relaxation. Experienced instructors cater for all levels and make yoga accessible.

2Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley
The whole day is dedicated to exploring the Kathmandu Valley, an area rich in history and adorned with UNESCO World Heritage sites. Visitors take a guided tour that showcases the intricate architecture of ancient temples and stupas, including Swayambhunath, known as the Monkey Temple, and the sacred Pashupatinath Temple along the banks of the Bagmati River. The day will also include visits to the bustling markets and craft shops of Thamel, where local culture comes alive through vibrant colors and traditional crafts.
3Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (200 Kilo meter west of Kathmandu)- 6 Hours
The journey continues with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, approximately 200 kilometers west. Offering breathtaking views of the lush hills and Annapurna range, this six-hour drive provides the perfect opportunity to see Nepal's diverse landscape as travelers transition from the urban environment of Kathmandu to the tranquil lakeside beauty of Pokhara.
4Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul (1050m.) and Trek to Tikhedunga (1577m)- 4 Hours
Depart Pokhara for Nayapul, located at an altitude of 1050 meters. The journey to Nayapul marks the beginning of a trekking adventure that culminates in a four-hour trek to Tikhedung, located at an altitude of 1,577 meters. This trek provides an immersive experience in a natural environment with the opportunity to observe Nepalese rural life and the enchanting scenery that characterizes the region.
5Trek to Ghorepani ( 2675m)- 6 Hours
The next day awaits us with a challenging trek to Ghorepani, which stands at an impressive altitude of 2,675 meters. This six-hour journey takes hikers through a diverse landscape, including terraced fields, dense rhododendron forests, and breathtaking views of towering peaks. Ghorepani is famous for its panoramic views and serves as a popular stop for tourists from all over the world.
6Hike to Poon Hill (3180m.) and trek to Tadapani (2675m.)- 6 hours
Early in the morning, trekkers will head to Poon Hill, perched at an altitude of 3,180 meters. This peak is known for its breathtaking sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After soaking in the spectacular scenery, the trek continues towards Tadapani, also at an altitude of 2,675 meters. This segment, comprising approximately six hours of trekking, offers both challenging routes and interesting sights.
7Trek from Tadapani (2675m.) to Ghandruk (1950m.)- 3 Hours
The trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk, located at an altitude of 1950 meters, is a shorter but equally scenic journey that takes about three hours. Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village that boasts stunning views and rich cultural experiences, allowing travelers to engage with local customs and enjoy the warm hospitality of the community.
8Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul (Pokhara) & Drive to Pokhara- 5 Hours
The journey back to Nayapul begins with a trek from Ghandruk which leads back to the starting point of the trek. This section, along with the subsequent drive back to Pokhara, takes approximately five hours. Returning to Pokhara brings a sense of accomplishment and an opportunity to relax by the quiet shore of the lake and reflect on the journey so far.
9Free Day at Pokhara
A free day in Pokhara allows travelers to relax and explore at their leisure. Options may include boating on Lake Phewa, visiting the World Peace Pagoda, or indulging in local cuisine at various restaurants along the lake.
10Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu ( 6 Hours)
The adventure continues on the return journey to Kathmandu, the journey takes about six hours. When travelers re-enter the bustling city, they will have the opportunity to experience the contrast between the peaceful landscape of Pokhara and the vibrant life of the capital city.
