NAR TO MUSTANG TREK

The Nar to Mustang Trek is a special journey. It lies deep in Nepal's Himalayas. This trek starts in Nar, a pretty village in the Annapurna area. You will walk through many types of land. Expect green forests and dry, empty deserts. Hikers see tall, snowy mountains. They also see old villages and temples.
A key part of the Nar to Mustang Trek is crossing Kang La pass. This high pass is 5,320 meters up. From there, you get wide views of mountains. Annapurna II and Gangapurna are among them. The path is tough and very high up. This trek is best for hikers with experience. It offers a real adventure.
You will visit small, out-of-the-way villages. Phu and Chharka Bhot are examples. Here, you can learn about the local culture. Meet kind people. Try real local food. See old customs. This makes the trek very special.

    Arrival in Kathmandu (1340m)

    Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our designated airport representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to your hotel in a private tourist vehicle. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel

    Kathmandu World Heritage sightseeing

    The sightseeing trip begins at 9.45 AM with a private vehicle and professional tour guide. We visit Boudhnath Stupa, a world-renowned Buddhist shrine, Pashupatinath, a famous Hindu temple, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a collection of pagoda and shikhara-style temples. The rest of the trip is free for exploration and shopping in Thamel area. Overnight at hotel.

    Drive to Koto (2600m)

    Given the long journey ahead, we set off early. Our route takes us along the highway, tracing the path of the Trishuli river. Upon crossing the bridge, we then follow the course of the Marshyangdi river until we reach Besisahar. Following a satisfying lunch, we resume our drive towards Koto

    Trek to Meta (3560m)

    Beyond the Koto check post, we traverse the river via an extensive suspension bridge that guides us towards the Nar Phu valley. We then climb on a picturesque path through enchanting forests above the Phu Khola. The trail gradually ascends through the woods until we reach Kharka, specifically the kharka of Meta at 3560m. This location serves as the temporary winter settlement of Nar, where we are likely to encounter a small number of yaks and perhaps a few villagers at our shared campsite

    Trek to Phu (4050m)

    The trail descends steeply to the river, passing the'submarine' rock and unique shortens made of sticks, stone, and mud-brick. We rock-hop across a glacial stream and reach a larger one with a half-covered bridge. After an hour and a half of trekking, we reach the Phu gate, Pupigyal Kwe, which offers views of the three villages, an old 'dzong', and two ruins of forts. We set up camp on the lower reaches of Phu, formerly called Gomdzong.

    Trek to Gompa (3500m)

    The path leads down to the ancient bridge that stretches across a steep, rugged, and slender canyon before ascending back up. We are treated to breathtaking vistas of the landscape. Below us lie Gyalbu Kumbum, constructed in 1650, as well as Satte gompa and TameLoppchen monasteries, along with the enchanting sight of the northern face of Pisang Peak. We spend the night in that area.

    Trek to Naar Village.(4110m)

    The path leads up to the Nar gates located at the summit of the hill. From there, we can enjoy a breathtaking view of Pisang Peak and Kangaru Himal (6538m). Since we arrived early, we plan to have lunch in the sun before embarking on some exploration.

    Trek to Dharmasala (4200m)

    Starting from Naar Village, we track alongside Lapse Khola before crossing the river. We then proceed to hike up to Chubse Kharka (4400m Lunch Place) and walk in a straight line for an hour before descending to the riverbank where our camp is located.

    Trek to Lapsekhola camp (4500m)

    We establish our camp close to the River as the trail proceeds towards Labse Khola, traversing several side valleys

    Trek to High camp (4900m)

    Proceeding up to the High camp via the Labse Khola valley. Set up camp at the high camp

    Cross the Teri La (5595m) and decend to Pasphu Khola camp (4900m)

    Today signifies a crucial day of ascent on Teri La Pass. We commence our day early in the morning by centering ourselves physically, eventually conquering the summit at 5595m. The view from this peak offers a spectacular sight of the Annapurnas, Chulu mountains, Teri La Peak, and Purtun Himal region. Subsequently, we make our way down to our camp located by the Pasphu Khola river

    Trek to Yak pa (4300m)

    The trail continues through several ups and downs, then slowly descends to Yakpa Khola river where 2 river meets.

    Trek to Tangge (3300m)

    We traverse multiple elevated ridges before descending into the mosaic of villages in Mustang below. Eventually, our eyes catch sight of the enchanting, whitewashed village of Tangge. Tangge, consisting of twenty houses, is home to numerous sheep, goats, and majestic mastiffs. Moreover, it boasts the grandest chorten in all of Mustang, standing tall at over 50 feet

    Trek to Yara village(3600m)

    The trail from Tanggethe leads northeast, taking us out of the village for a short climb before guiding us through a captivating landscape of rolling hills. We traverse the plateau along a seldom-used path, admiring the breathtaking scenery along the way, until we catch sight of the picturesque green village of Yara nestled below, on the other side of the Puyung Khola. Descending to the rocky riverbed, we cross the river and make our way towards the village, where we set up camp for the night

    Trek Lomanthang (3820m)

    The journey to Mustang's capital involves crossing the Charang Khola and reaching the Sungda Chorten. The journey continues through a magical world of salt drips, narrow canyons, flood plains, and cliffs. The first sumdo or river junction leads to the Chuchu Gompa Khola, where the right fork leads to the 14th-15th century Chos Sung Gompa. The fabled walled city of Lo has a single entrance for only the King, Queen, and Kempo (Abbot), while others must walk to pay respects to Chenrizig, the Buddha of Compassion. King Jigme Palbar Bista, known as 'Lo Gyelbu', lives in his four-storied palace and is an avid horseman.

    Explore Lomanthang

    There are four primary temples located within the ancient walls of Lo. These include the Jampa Lhakhang, which dates back to the 14th century and features the impressive 50-foot 'Jampa' Buddha statue. The Thubchen Gompa, built in the 15th century, boasts a Great Assembly hall with pillars reaching 30 feet high and stunning murals in the Dukhang. The Chhoede Gompa is home to the Kempo and houses a monastic school, while the Choprang Gompa completes the quartet of temples in the area.

    Drive from Lomanthang to Jomsom( 6 hrs).

    Drive through Lo Gekar, or Ghar Gompa, east from Tsarang, passing Marang village. Stay on the left bank of the river to see the chortens of Lo Gekar. Explore Ghiling and Samar villages before reaching Chhusang o Kagbeni and Jomsom.

    Fly Jomsom to Pokhara

    Rising early for our brief yet breathtaking mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, we soared amidst the majestic peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South before gracefully touching down in the pleasant city of Pokhara. With the afternoon at our disposal, we leisurely explored the enchanting Phewa Lake, and as evening descended, we savored a delightful meal at a charming restaurant conveniently located near our hotel.
