MOUNT KUN EXPEDITION

The Mount Kun Peak Climbing Expedition is an exciting journey for daring mountaineers eager to conquer the highest peaks in India and beyond. The twin peaks, Mt Kun and Mt Nun, are situated 250 km from Srinagar in the Suru Valley of Kargil District. This expedition is filled with unexpected challenges, making it particularly thrilling for the courageous. Reaching the summit of Mt Kun, which stands at an impressive height of 7077 meters, will test both your physical and mental endurance.

Mt Kun is part of a snow-covered 4km massif that features Pinnacle Peak (6930m), the third tallest peak in this remarkable massif. The first successful ascent of Mt Kun occurred in 1913 by an Italian climbing team led by Mario Lorenzo Borelli. The second peak was reached by an Indian Army expedition in 1971, fifty-eight years later.

The Mount Kun expedition in India requires climbers to possess specific skills and a professional mountaineering certificate or equivalent high-altitude climbing experience. Climbing Nun Kun in India is often organized as a dual expedition to tackle both mountains. The Kun Mountaineering, Trekking, and Climbing Expedition in India is intended for seasoned mountaineers only.

Among other Himalayan expeditions in India above 7000m, Mt Kun at 7077m serves as an excellent training expedition before attempting Everest. Kahlur Adventures provides a fully guided Mt Kun summit tour, committed to organizing the best climbing expedition in India.
