Makalu Adventure, a renowned outdoor travel agency in Nepal, and Geo-Planet, a respected event organizer, have joined forces to create an extraordinary stage race called THE YETI BIKE RACE. Expertly managed by Makalu Adventure, this remarkable 11-day journey includes an exhilarating 6-day mountain bike race that takes participants on a thrilling anti-clockwise tour of Annapurna's Tour, allowing them to experience awe-inspiring majesty. this wonderful route. During the race, the participants cover a distance of 240 kilometers and climb a challenging 7,000 meters of altitude in 7 stages.

One of the highlights of the race is the opportunity to interact with locals along the way. The people of Nepal are known for their warmth and hospitality, and riders often receive a warm welcome as they pass through villages and interact with local communities.

In addition to the physical demands of the race, participants must also contend with the high altitude and unpredictable weather conditions that are common in the Himalayas. The race requires careful preparation, including acclimatization to the altitude, proper equipment and strong determination.

    Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

    Upon your arrival at the airport, the team from Makalu Adventure will be there to greet you and take you to Thamel Eco Resort, where you will be staying. A welcome dinner ceremony will be held, followed by a Technical Briefing for the upcoming race.

    Drive to Besisahar

    We will be transported by the organization's private vehicle from Kathmandu to Besi Sahar. Along the journey, we will make a stop for a meal before preparing our bikes upon arrival. After having dinner and getting some rest, we will kick off our adventure the following day.

    Besisahar - Jagat. Stage 1 of Yeti Bike Race

    The breakfast will be served at 7:30hrs. The 1st STAGE YETI BIKE RACE is set to commence at 9:00hrs. From Besisahar to Jagat, our journey will take us through a diverse terrain. We will transition from a subtropical forest to a picturesque landscape adorned with magnificent pines. Along the way, we will encounter small streams created by majestic waterfalls cascading down our path. The estimated time of arrival is between 12:00hrs and 14:00hrs. Upon reaching our destination, we will have the opportunity to relax in a soothing hot spring before enjoying a delicious dinner and settling into our accommodations at a charming Guesthouse.

    Jagat - Chame. Stage 2 of Yeti Bike Race

    Breakfast will be served at 7:30am. The 2nd leg of the YETI BIKE RACE will kick off at 9:00am. Jagat-Chame is set to be a challenging stage, featuring steep and continuous ascents with gradients reaching up to 20%. As we climb above 2500m in altitude, bikers may start to feel the effects of the elevation. The scenery will undergo a dramatic transformation. Riders are expected to arrive between 12:00pm and 3:00pm. After the race, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a meal and visit the Chame spring waters. Free time will be provided before dinner and overnight stay at a Guesthouse.

    Chame - Manang. Stage 3 of Yeti Bike Race

    Breakfast will be served at 7:30hrs. The 3rd leg of the YETI BIKE RACE will commence at 9:00hrs in Chame-Manang. This particular stage will take you through forests filled with large coniferous trees like cedars, pines, and Nepalese firs, as you gradually ascend to a false plateau. The challenge of altitude will be evident as the finish line in Manang is at 3400m. Expect to arrive between 12:00 to 14:00hrs. Enjoy a leisurely meal and a soft trek with a themed tour guided by an expert to the Ganggapurna Glacier. The rest of the day is free for you to explore. Conclude the day with dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse.

    Manang - Ledar - Phedi. Stage 4 of Yeti Bike Race (Acclimatization day)

    Breakfast will be served at 9:30am. Today is a day for acclimatization. Whether traveling alone or in a group, we will make our way gradually to Ledar. Take the opportunity to admire the Himalayas and its wildlife as we venture into the habitat of the snow leopard and the blue deer. The thick forests will gradually transition into areas with small juniper trees shaped by the strong winds. Enjoy lunch in Ledar and engage in a light trek in the afternoon in Phedi to help with acclimatization. Dinner and overnight stay will be provided at a guesthouse in Phedi.

    Phedi - Thorong La Pass (5416m) - Marpha. Stage 5 of Yeti Bike Race

    After enjoying a delicious breakfast at 6:30hrs, it's time to embark on an exhilarating adventure. We will hop on our bikes and make our way up to Thorong La Pass, which stands tall at an impressive altitude of 5416m. This pass is the highest point along our route and offers breathtaking views of majestic peaks that soar above 6000m. With the excitement building, we will kick off the 5th stage of the Yeti Bike Race. This stage promises a long and thrilling descent, allowing us to soak in the awe-inspiring scenery as we pedal our way towards Kagbeni, a designated feeding area. From there, our journey will continue to Jomsom, and finally, we will conclude our ride in the charming and picturesque village of Marpha. Once we have replenished our energy with a well-deserved meal, we will have the opportunity to explore a Buddhist temple, immersing ourselves in its serene and spiritual ambiance.

    Marpha - Tatopani. Stage 6 of Yeti Bike Race

    Breakfast will be served at 7:00hrs. The 6th STAGE YETI BIKE RACE is scheduled to begin at 9:00hrs. Starting from Marpha, we will gradually descend along the Kali Gandaki river, crossing it multiple times on footbridges. Throughout the route, we will transition between singletracks and forested trails, with a gentle climb towards the village and lake of Titi. It is during this stage that the final ranking and winners of the race will be determined. Upon reaching Tatopani, we will conclude the timed race. Here, we will have the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate in the town's natural Hot Spring. Following this, lunch will be served, and the final classification will be announced, along with the distribution of leader numbers.

    Tatopani - Beni. Stage 7 of Yeti Bike Race

    Breakfast will be served at 9:00am. The 7th stage of the YETI BIKE RACE is set to begin. Participants have the option to either ride their bikes or take the van provided by our organization for the descent. Our vehicle will pick you up from Beni and transport you to Pokhara, where the final celebration of the YETI BIKE RACE will be held at a luxurious first-class hotel.

    Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu

    Breakfast will be served at 9:00am. Transportation to Kathmandu will be provided either by vehicle or plane. The journey by bus will take approximately 7-8 hours, with a lunch stop along the way. Upon reaching Kathmandu, participants will have leisure time for shopping and other activities. The YETI BIKE RACE closing ceremony will be held, where trophies and finishers' medals will be distributed to all who completed the challenge. This will be followed by a dinner. Participants will stay in hotel accommodations.
