TREK TO RARA
Rara Lake, the largest lake in Nepal, is a hidden gem offering peace and joy. With an area of over 10.8 square kilometers, it lies at an altitude of 2,990 meters and is surrounded by lush pine forests and snow-capped mountains. The lake is home to diverse flora and fauna, including rare species such as the red panda and the Himalayan black bear. The Dolpo people, inhabited mostly by the lake, have deep cultural significance. The trek offers a glimpse into their daily routine, from traditional farming practices to vibrant festivals. The ideal time to trek to Rara is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), with stable weather and clear skies. Proper preparation for the trek is essential, including sturdy trekking shoes, layered clothing, a comfortable backpack, camping equipment and a basic first aid kit. The journey to Rara Lake takes about 4 to 6 days depending on the pace and route chosen. Hits on the way include Jumla, the gateway to Rara, Chere Chaur and Rara National Park, where the diverse wildlife of the park is revealed as you approach.

Arrive in Kathmandu. 1330m. Meet upon arrival. Transfer to Hotel
Arrival in Kathmandu, located at an altitude of 1330m. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, passengers will be greeted by representatives who will assist them with necessary arrangements. From the airport, a transfer to the Hotel is provided, which provides a comfortable environment for rest and acclimatization in the new environment along the way.
2Kathmandu, trekking permits etc., Hotel
The day is devoted to the necessary preparations in Kathmandu, including obtaining a trekking permit and other necessary documents required for the trek. This process ensures that all legal requirements are met before you embark on your adventure. The day can also include a short exploration of the vibrant culture and sights of Kathmandu, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in the local atmosphere.
3Fly to Nepalgunj, Hotel.
A morning flight will take participants to Nepalgunj, a key city located in the western region of Nepal. Upon arrival, guests are transferred to the designated hotel for an overnight stay, which provides an opportunity to rest before proceeding to the starting point of the trek.
4Fly to Jumla
After breakfast, hikers will board a plane to Jumla, a picturesque town that serves as a pivotal access point for hiking in the surrounding mountains. This flight offers amazing aerial views of the landscape and sets the stage for future adventures.
5Cross the Danphya Lagna Pass (3600m) and descend to Lah Gad Camp. 5 to 6 hours of trekking. Camp
The trek begins with the challenging DanphyaLagna Pass which climbs to an altitude of 3600m. This part of the trek is both challenging and rewarding and requires 5 to 6 hours of hiking. After reaching the pass, trekkers descend to Lah Gad Camp where they camp amidst the natural beauty of the area.
6Trek to Chautha. 3100m. 4 to 5 hours of trekking. Camp
The journey continues as the trekkers proceed to Chautha which is located at an altitude of 3100m. This segment involves approximately 4 to 5 hours of trekking leading to the camp where participants can reflect on the day's achievements and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
7Trek to Dhotu or Jharikhola (2530m) 4.5 to 5.5 hours of trekking. Camp.
Trek to Dhot or Jharikhola at 2530m will take about 4.5 to 5.5 hours. This section of the trek offers opportunities to appreciate the local flora and fauna while hikers gain insight into the diverse ecosystems of the region they are traveling through. Upon arrival, the group breaks up for the night.
8Trek to the tranquil shores of Rara Lake (3048m) 5 hour trek.Camp.
Trekkers will head to the tranquil shores of Rara Lake, located at an altitude of 3048m. This hike, which takes about five hours, leads to one of the most scenic spots in the region. The campsite will be built near the lake, allowing for an evening of peace and contemplation by the shore.
9Exploration at Rara Lake. Camp.
Spend the whole day exploring Rara Lake. This day offers an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty, engage in photography or take a leisurely walk around the area. The camp will be maintained at this amazing location and will provide an enriching experience immersed in nature.
10Trek to Luma Village (2135m). 5 to 6 hours of trekking. Camp.
The trek continues towards Luma village which is located at an altitude of 2135m and requires about 5 to 6 hours of trekking. The route to this village reveals more of the region's scenic beauty and leads to an evening of relaxation and community at the campsite.
11Trek to Changkheli. 5 to 6 hour trek. Camp.
The journey continues with a trek to Changkheli which will take 5 to 6 hours. As hikers move along this route, they will witness the changing landscape characteristic of the region, culminating in another camping experience.
12Cross the Chankel La Pass (3640m) and trek to Rimi Village (2590m). 6 to 7 hour trek.Camp.
Participants will face the imposing Chankel La Pass, reaching an impressive altitude of 3640m before heading to the village of Rimi at2590m. Scheduled to take 6 to 7 hours, this part of the trek requires endurance and determination, but rewards hikers with spectacular views and a sense of accomplishment upon reaching the camp.
13Trek to Melcham. 2377m. 5 to 6 hours of trekking. Camp.

14-15Trek to Pomkha and Ghatte. 2012m. 4 to 6 hours of trekking each day. Camp.

16Trek to Simikot (3000m) high above the Humla Karnali River. Camp.

17Reserve day trekking

18Fly to Kathmandu
A flight back to Kathmandu is scheduled, offering a comfortable transition from the remote tourist environment back to the capital.
19Contingency day

20Transfer to the Kathmandu International Airport for our departure.
The adventure ends with a transfer to Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport for departure. This marks the end of a rewarding experience full of breathtaking scenery, cultural immersion and personal achievements throughout the trek.
